HARDEST WORKING CITY

Charlotte

HOME TO SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY AND HARD WORK

Congratulations to Charlotte, a city with royal roots that isn’t afraid to get its hands dirty. Named after the wife of England’s King George III, the Queen City will receive the Freightliner Trucks Hardest Working Cities award on September 17 during a special award presentation.

Home to nearly 800,000 people and more than 10 Fortune 1000 companies, Charlotte is the largest city in North Carolina. Forbes ranked it as the number one city for employee engagement, and CNN Money ranked it as one of the top 10 big booming cities.

The city was recently rated among the best places to live in the U.S., but it also is one of the top cities for manufacturing employment in North America.

And the proof is in the skyline. There are so many construction projects in Charlotte that locals joke the “crane” should be the state bird.
