DETROIT HITS IT ON ALL CYLINDERS

DETROIT (October 20, 2017) — Last week, the Detroit region became the 11th city to be honored with a Freightliner Trucks Hardest Working Cities award. The program recognizes cities across North America that demonstrate determination, innovation, and job creation, and between Detroit's downtown revitalization and the preservation of its title as "The Motor City," the Detroit region has truly demonstrated the spirit of this award.

After an exhaustive review of approximately 400 metropolitan census areas across 11 different key economic performance indicators, Freightliner Trucks found that Detroit was the fourth city in North America for manufacturing employment. It is also among the top 10 percent of cities in North America for heavy and tractor-trailer truck drivers, and transportation establishments.

We made surprise visits to two worksites in Detroit and presented the Hardest Working Cities award at the Detroit Diesel Corporation.
